Most men don’t know when a woman (not a “giri,” please) is wearing makeup or not. They mistake artful use of makeup for the “natural” look. The same men who claim they don’t like makeup are usually appalled to see women without it.
Personally I like seeing women in garish makeup, which gives a big middle finger to the dudes who police our appearances. Beauty is work, and maybe men should acknowledge it instead of pretending that all the work we do to look nice is “vanity.”
Personally, I feel my excellent cheekbones and pouty lips are best highlighted with the blood of pretentious douchebags who post porny pics of women while telling them what makeup gives them boners.
